HOTS Odd Olympics… Dressed head to toe in the red, white and blue, HOTS has been checking out every sport possible—including some HOTS did not know existed—during the Paris Olympics. Along those lines, the British version of GQ recently published a list of the 10 weirdest sports in Olympic Games history. There was solo synchronized swimming from 1984–1992. When St. Louis hosted in 1904, competitors dove into a pool to see how far they could drift underwater until they surfaced, up to a maximum of a minute later. William Dickey won the plunge for distance at 62.5 feet. The Paris Olympics in 1900 seemed to produce the most oddities, including horse high jump and long jump, live pigeon shooting, 200-meter swimming obstacle race and poodle clipping, which involved 128 competitors performing in front of 6,000 in the Bois De Boulogne park. The participants clipped the fur off as many poodles as they could in two hours (Avril Lafoule won gold, with 17 poodles clipped).
