Brad Dean Tapped as Leader of Explore St. Louis Columbus Sees Uptick in Car Break-Ins at Hotels ASAE Launches Coalition to Champion Tax-Exempt Sector Meetings Industry Associations Supporting Wildfire Recovery Efforts
Brad Dean Tapped as Leader of Explore St. Louis… Dean starts as President & CEO of Explore St. Louis on February 17, the destination organization announced on January 15. He most recently served as head of Discover Puerto Rico and served for 20 years as head of the Myrtle Beach Area CVB in South Carolina. He succeeds Kathleen “Kitty” Ratcliffe in the position.
Columbus Sees Uptick in Car Break-Ins at Hotels… Dozens of hotel guests at five separate properties in Columbus awoke to find their cars had been broken into in the early morning hours of January 12. The break-ins are the latest in a streak of burglaries at hotel parking lots in the city, which have been increasing in frequency and severity, according to local authorities.

ASAE Launches Coalition to Champion Tax-Exempt Sector… Preparing for significant tax legislation in 2025, ASAE launched the Community Impact Coalition on January 15. ASAE said the unified initiative is dedicated to educating the 119th Congress about the social and economic benefits of associations, charities and other tax-exempt organizations.
Meetings Industry Associations Supporting Wildfire Recovery Efforts… The MPI Foundation’s Natural Disaster and Hardship Relief Fund is available to help impacted members, while the ASAE Research Foundation is raising funds to assist the hundreds of thousands of residents in the greater Los Angeles community impacted by devastating, ongoing wildfires this week. ASAE will hold its 2025 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Los Angeles from August 9–12.
