ASAE, SECB Launch Toolkit for Associations Operating Globally… Produced by ASAE and the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau (SECB), the Associations’ Guide to Going Global includes an assessment of geopolitical and economic trends and steps for associations to consider when working internationally.

MPI Foundation Seeks to Raise $40K in Three Days… MPI’s largest individual giving campaign in celebration of its 40th anniversary, the MPI Foundation’s (MPIF) “40 for 40,” is seeking to raise $40,000 from August 5–7. Find more information here.

Greater Palm Springs promises an unforgettable meeting experience, with 300+ days of sunshine annually, mountains you can almost reach out and touch, and an incredible range of accommodations, venues, and attractions. Nine distinct cities create one meeting oasis, with 185+ hotels and 19,000 rooms, outstanding amenities, and unmatched outdoor adventures.

Marriott Launches Pilot Program to Aid Human Trafficking Survivors… Marriott International has launched HotelHelp, a pilot program that aims to help survivors of human trafficking as they exit and seek support. HotelHelp is a room donation program that works with Marriott's portfolio of hotels to identify properties willing to donate short-term emergency stays to match with care providers booking rooms for the survivors they support.

Mercedes Miller Tapped to Head ATL Airport District CVB… The destination marketing organization for the cities of College Park, Hapeville, and Union City announced on August 1 that Miller will succeed Cookie Smoak as President upon Smoak’s September 30 retirement. Miller most recently served as executive director for Gateway Center Campus, which encompasses the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), Gateway Center Arena and the Historic College Park Golf Course.

HOTS Speedy Tweet… HOTS had to stop when reading what the fastest man in the world posted on X after winning gold in Paris. Claiming the 100m dash in 9.79 seconds, American Noah Lyles wrote one of the most inspirational things HOTS has heard in a while: “I have Asthma, allergies, dyslexia, ADD, anxiety, and Depression. But I will tell you that what you have does not define what you can become. Why Not You!” HOTS think associations should book him for a keynote—but they better do it quickly.
