Paul Sacco, Former Head of Massachusetts Lodging Association, Dies… Sacco, who spent more than 60 years in the hospitality industry, died on August 28 at age 82. He served as Chairman & CEO of the Massachusetts Lodging Association for 16 years before he retired last year. Caesars Entertainment Expands Wellness Initiative in Atlantic City… Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s Atlantic City, and Tropicana Atlantic City will see additional wellness offerings such as keynote speakers, workshops and activities and nutrient rich F&B options. In June, Caesars Entertainment launched a wellness menu.
Liz Cheney, Kishore Mahbubani Announced as Convening Leaders Mainstage Speakers… Cheney is a former United States Representative, and Mahbubani a past president of the United Nations Security Council. Convening Leaders is set for January 12–15 in Houston. Jennifer LeMaster Tapped to Lead Seattle Convention Center… LeMaster will take over as President & CEO on September 16. She’ll be the facility’s first female CEO, succeeding Jeff Blosser, who retired earlier this year.
HOTS Dummy Rescue… A Royal National Lifeboat Institution crew from Filey, England, responded to a report of a stranded person in the water only to discover it was an organizational training dummy lost by another crew two weeks earlier. UPI reported the rescuers arrived on the scene and “recovered a training dummy from the water,” the crew said on social media. The dummy had been lost by a RNLI crew in Hartlepool two weeks earlier. The Hartlepool crew thanked the Filey station for finding their dummy, Fred, in a Facebook post. “So, Fred's had an unauthorized holiday to Yorkshire,” the post said. HOTS must admit it feels a little foolish for sharing a story about a dummy.
