FTC Announces Final Rule Requiring Fee Disclosures for Hotels… The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced on December 17 it has finalized a bipartisan rule prohibiting pricing practices designed to hide total prices and junk fees for live events and short-term lodging. Businesses in those industries must “clearly and conspicuously” disclose the true total price, including mandatory fees, before a customer enters payment information.

She’ll be honored at the Women’s Executive Forum on March 7 at Convene Willis Tower in Chicago.

CEIR Integrated into IAEE as Research Division… CEIR will continue to focus on industry performance metrics, attendee behavior, and emerging trends. The announcement was made during Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2024 in Los Angeles.

HOTS Google Googly… Looking around the internet, HOTS saw that Googly eyes have been appearing on sculptures in Bend, Oregon. The AP reports they’ve sparked a viral sensation online and on television. However, not everyone is batting their eyes, with the city posting: “While the googly eyes placed on the various art pieces around town might give you a chuckle, it costs money to remove them with care to not damage the art.” Nobody is sure who’s responsible for the Googly eyes, but HOTS hopes the city and individual can see eye to eye on a good spot for the peepers.
