IEEE Celebrates Co-Founder Alexander Graham Bell’s 150-Year Legacy of Connectivity… IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization, has launched “Alexander Graham Bell: 150 Years of Connection,” a free digital exhibit and two accompanying short documentary films celebrating the 150th anniversary of Bell’s landmark telephone call. The experience is available at the IEEE History Center website.

Bell, a co-founder of IEEE, is recognized by two IEEE Milestones for achieving the first intelligible voice transmission over electrical wire and the first distant speech transmission in the United States and Canada—both in 1876. This year’s 150th anniversary coincides with the U.S. 250th celebration, making Bell’s story a timely reminder of how innovation continues to shape how the world connects.

“As one of IEEE’s founders, Alexander Graham Bell represents exactly the kind of curiosity-driven, cross-disciplinary thinking that has always defined our community,” said Jill Gostin, 2026 IEEE President-Elect. “This exhibit shows the full arc of Bell’s work and the inventive thinking that helped shape modern communication, right through to the internet and artificial intelligence.”

The launch includes two short films and an exhibit developed with help from AT&T, the Library of Congress, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The digital exhibit also showcases personal documents, research sketches, and historic photographs from Bell’s life and work, as well as business records from the Bell Telephone Company dating to the 1870s. Visitors can also test their knowledge with an interactive Bell quiz.

U.S. Chamber Celebrates One-Year Anniversary of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act… On July 4, Neil Bradley, Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement marking the one-year anniversary of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, also known as the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, becoming law:

“The Working Families Tax Cuts Act has been a gamechanger for American workers, businesses, and communities,” said Bradley. “The U.S. Chamber was proud to help shape this legislation from the start, and for over a year, we have worked alongside state and local chambers to bring small businesses, community leaders, and members of Congress together to discuss the real-world impact of these tax reforms. The message has been consistent: making tax relief permanent has given businesses the certainty to invest, hire, and grow. That has resulted in more opportunities for businesses and workers, stronger communities, and a more competitive American economy.”

Over the last year, the Chamber has convened lawmakers, small businesses, and local leaders to see how the Working Families Tax Cuts have created new opportunities for American families, workers, and businesses. To date, nearly one hundred of these events have been hosted with more scheduled.
