Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida, celebrated its 40th anniversary on May 15. At 1,500 rooms, the hotel was the largest in Florida at the time of its opening. Since opening in 1986, the Orlando World Center Marriott has expanded to 2,010 guest rooms.
To celebrate 40 years, the Marriott property announced a “Pick Your Perk” offer available now through December 23. According to the hotel: “Guests who book two nights or more receive one curated perk per night.” Options include cabanas for up to four guests, a weekend poolside daybed for two guests, one round of championship golf with equipment rental, or a $150 dining credit at two of the resort’s restaurants, Siro Urban Italian Kitchen or Mikado Japanese Steakhouse.

Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, announced on May 14 that it will renovate all of its 200 guest rooms in time for America’s 250th anniversary.
The renovation is designed to enhance “every aspect of the guest experience” and “reimagines the historic resort for a new generation of travelers,” the resort said.
“Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa has long been more than a destination—it’s a sanctuary where people gather to celebrate, carry on traditions, and create lasting memories,” said Michael Medeiros, Managing Director of the hotel, adding that the “transformation of the hotel honors our storied history while reestablishing Omni Mount Washington as a true travel heirloom – an experience that feels deeply personal, timeless, and meant to be cherished for generations to come.”

The Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay in Kahuku, Hawaii, debuted a new Town & Country Chef Series on May 23. The series is an exclusive culinary program curated with the property’s executive chef Daniel Quintero to bring guests a “unique collaboration between the legendary gastronomy of Honolulu on O’ahu and Wailuku ‘town’ on Maui, and the the rugged, authentic spirit of the North Shore’s ‘country’ lifestyle, all while supporting Hawai’i’s local culinary community,” the property said in the announcement.
James Beard Award nominee, two-time Top Chef Fan Favorite and author of Cook Real Hawai’i, chef Sheldon Simeon, kicked off the series at the resort’s signature restaurant, Alaia. The next events in the series are scheduled for September 5, with Chef Lee Anne Wong, and November 7, with Chef Mark “Gooch” Noguchi.

Marriott International and Outside Interactive, “the leading media and technology platform for outdoor inspiration and activation,” are collaborating to provide guests the opportunity to “turn their outdoor adventures into travel rewards,” according to a May 18 announcement.
By linking their Marriott Bonvoy and Outside+ Adventure Pass accounts, guests can earn Marriott Bonvoy points by recording activities, including hikes, runs and bike rides in Outside apps.
